Algebra Difficulty 2.2 Junior Find the answer
If x=2 and v=3x, what is the value of (2v−5)−(2x−5)?
A number or a short expression. Fractions can be typed as 3/2, and spacing doesn't matter.
Solution
Since v=3x and x=2, then v=3⋅2=6. Therefore, (2v−5)−(2x−5)=(2⋅6−5)−(2⋅2−5)=7−(−1)=8.
