Algebra Difficulty 1.8 Junior Find the answer

How many integers are greater than 57\frac{5}{7} and less than 283\frac{28}{3}?

A number or a short expression. Fractions can be typed as 3/2, and spacing doesn't matter.

Solution

The fraction 57\frac{5}{7} is between 0 and 1. The fraction 283\frac{28}{3} is equivalent to 9139 \frac{1}{3} and so is between 9 and 10. Therefore, the integers between these two fractions are 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,91, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, of which there are 9.
