A palindromic number is a number that reads the same backwards as it does forwards.
For example: $15751$ and $909$ .

a) What is the smallest palindromic number greater than $2016$ ?

b) What is the largest palindromic number less than $2016$ ?

Your answer

A number or a short expression. Fractions can be typed as 3/2, and spacing doesn't matter.

Solution

a) $2112$ , since the next smaller palindrome is $2002$ , which is less than $2016$ .

b) $2002$ , since $2112$ is the next palindrome.
