Prove that for every real number x the following inequality holds:
x6+x4−x3−x+43>0.
Solution
The inequality is equivalent to
x6−x3+41+x4−x2+41+x2−x+41>0,
which in turn is equivalent to
(x3−21)2+(x2−21)2+(x−21)2>0.
Since 21=21, equality cannot occur.
