How many three-digit numbers are there with non-zero digits which have the following property: after any permutation of its digits one obtains three-digit number which is divisible by 44?

Solution

Obviously, all digits of such number are even because only even digit can be the last one. Also we cannot use 22 or 66 because if a number is divisible by 44 then the last two digits of it are 1212, 3232, ......, 9292 or 1616, 3636, ......, 9696. So such number consists of the digits 44 and 88. So:

Three digits 44 (or 88) – two numbers.

Two 44 and 88 (or vice versa) – six numbers.

Overall – 88 numbers.
